Celebrate 250 years of Jane Austen, with our new Jane Austen Afternoon Tea

Jane Austen, and her characters, always found that one “should be very glad of a little tea” (Mansfield Park, 1814). Tea meant rest and pleasure, and its absence would be a severe disappointment. It was a ritual that brought families together, could make or break marriage contracts, and made dull events all the more exciting!

What better way to celebrate her 250th birthday, than to indulge in our Jane Austen Afternoon Tea, uniquely inspired by her life and the era in which she lived and wrote.

Join us at your preferred sitting, 12-1.30pm, 2-3.30pm or 4-5.30pm and delight in an hour of live music with our resident pianist or famous Pump Room Trio. Enjoy the Jane Austen Tea with your choice of loose-leaf tea, blended by Gillards of Bath, or fair-trade filter coffee, with complimentary refills on request. Why not add a chilled glass of English Sparkling Wine, or sample the Darcy cocktail, made with Earl Grey tea and spiced rum?

We require a £10 deposit per person at point of booking to confirm your reservation, and ask you to pre-select the tea package required. Bookings may be made for up to 6 guests online. We cater for Gluten-free, Pescatarian, Vegetarian, Dairy-free, Nut-free and Vegan diets. We take allergies very seriously and request that you note all requirements on your booking, or contact us to discuss further ahead of your visit.

Please note we are not able to offer a 100% sterile environment and all dishes served on a “may contain basis”.

We require a £10 deposit per person at point of booking to confirm your reservation, and ask you to pre-select the tea package required during the booking process. Additional drinks and items can then be ordered at the table, and a discretionary 12% service charge will also be added to your bill on the day.

Cancellations can be made with 48 hours’ notice from the reservation time for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the reservation time are not refundable and your deposit will be retained.
